Install on Raspberry Pi (AppImage, advanced)
For most setups, the Lumicast OS image is the easier choice: it sets itself up and installs its own updates. If you'd rather keep your own Linux system on the Pi, such as Raspberry Pi OS with a desktop, use the Linux ARM64 AppImage instead.
Determine which AppImage build you need
Use the ARM64 AppImage with a 64-bit Linux operating system. The current player no longer supports 32-bit ARMv7l systems.
Open a terminal window.
Run:
bashuname -m getconf LONG_BITYou need
aarch64(orarm64) from the first command and64from the second. If the operating system is 32-bit, install a 64-bit OS before using the current player.
Required dependencies
Install the required runtime dependencies:
sudo apt install fuse libfuse2 zlib1g-devDownload and run the AppImage
Go to the Lumicast downloads page and copy the Linux
arm64download link.Open a terminal window.
Download the file:
bashwget <download_url>Make it executable:
bashchmod +x <filename>Run it:
bash./<filename>
The player starts and an autostart entry is created — the player will launch again on boot.
